Visitors reviews WILSON ROSE GARDEN

Raleigh, NC

We visited Wilson in February, and stopped by again. This time one of our stops was the Rose Garden. We thought the roses would be blooming all summer, but they had peaked in May, at least for a while. There were a few bushes blooming, but they were in the final stages.
There are a number of bushes and many kinds. The Garden is well designed and has several statues. The unfortunate thing is that it is betweeen a very busy highway a city operations building so it is not the peaceful place you often find a rose garden.

Great place to take your grandmother or children *when the roses are in bloom*. Otherwise you won’t find much. Springtime is great!

There are many different colors and varieties types of roses in the garden. What a very peaceful setting and perfect for weddings, prom scene and photography sessions.

The garden is supposed to be run by volunteers who remove the spent roses. It didn’t look like that had been done in a while. They have over 100 varieties of roses from historic old garden roses to new hybrids. It’s on a noisy road and that takes away from the experience.

Beautiful and peaceful. Wonderful place to see different roses before buying.

Beautiful place, and full of different varieties of roses! A treasure of a find after passing by –discovering area. Would have liked to have seen a natural rock formation with roses and maybe a lively and lovely spiral twirly creation, from a great artist of the area, also a few bird houses would have been nice hanging in nearby trees. LOVE IT!
